Templates

Introduction

The Templates module allows you to upload and store documents as read-only Templates. Your Users can go to these time and again, whenever the need arises.

This feature is well suited to documents, presentations and spreadsheets. For example:

  • Expense reports
  • Invoices
  • Letterheads
  • Absence requests
  • Sales proposals and presentations
  • Timesheets
  • Or any document regularly used to complete a process in your business.

Adding a Template

Note: If you are not able to upload a Template, this has probably been restricted by your Community Manager. If you have a new Template to upload, please request it through your Community Manager. This article has further details.

To add a Template to BCSocial, first prepare locally the document you want to be used as the Template. When it is ready, navigate to Manage > Templates

Here you will see the default Templates, which are blank Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents. You will also see any others that exist within your Community. Click 'Add template', browse your computer for the one you have prepared, and upload it.

Once the Template is uploaded, you have the option to rename or delete it if required.

Using a Template

You can use a Template from the Feed view of the context you are working in. For instructions on how to use a Template, please view this article
